Operating 9 axis turn/mill machine with robot loading to complete work-steps of a manufacturing order.
Essential duties and
Responsibilities:
(Other duties may be assigned) Independently set-up and operate CNC-controlled 9 axis Turn mill.
Select jaws and align tools, attachments and accessories according to set-up-sheets or programs for required machining.
Communicates with supervisor or programmer about adjustments in work-sequence and/or nonconforming dimensions if necessary.
Sets machine-controls to regulate the correct machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant-flow, angle and depth of cut.
Enters commands to retrieve; input or edit computerized machine control data.
Starts and observes machine-operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance-machining, and to adjust machine controls as required.
Sets up and operates machine on trial-run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
Set up automation for production.
Cut raw material on saw.
Able to inspect parts according to inspection sheets to make sure parts are good while machine is running.
Requirements Cooperation and communicating with co-workers:
Confers with manager about repairs of equipment.
Communicates with manager or design-engineer about adjustments in dimensions and tolerances (if reasonable with quality requirements).
Confer with personnel, such as management, engineering, quality control, to coordinate work activities, and identify and review resource needs.
Blueprint reading:
Understanding of blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances and surfaces to be machined on finished work-piece, sequence of operations and setup-requirements.
Quality-assurance:
Starts and observes machine-operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance-machining, adjusts machine controls as required.
Understands operation and handling of calipers and all precision-grade gages to be used during in-process and finished inspection.
Understands metric & English measurement systems.
Verifies conformance of finished work-piece by checking specifications, cross-references counterparts of assembly (if available) and/or Mfg.
order, signing off on manufacturing papers.
Confers with supervisor, programmer or coworkers to resolve difficulties and concerns in machining process or design of parts.
General maintenance of machine/ equipment:
Understands machine maintenance-schedule and performs all scheduled maintenance-intervals on machine.
Installs some replacement-parts into machines, mechanisms and equipment and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
Keeps working area orderly and clean:
Maintains work areas in accordance with SCHUNK 5S system Organizes tools and accessories inside of drawers in tool cabinets at working area/ machine Sweeps up oil- and coolant spills on machine, cabinets and surrounding area Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None Education and/or
Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Previous machinist experience and/ or machine technology certificate is highly desired.
