Responsibilities:
Responsible for; the technical design, planning, effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware software and related infrastructure; design, implementation and management ofrecovery procedures for mission critical systems. Serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex storage and server operating systems. Assists project teams with system requirements and develops system specifications to meet product requirements.
Job Duties:
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
Manages the day-to-day server operations. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary. Works with vendors to assist support activities.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Performs troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
Establishes, maintains and manages users accounts and access permissions.
Installs, modifies and maintains systems and utility software on server computer systems. Provides server support related to other software.
Develops and maintains procedures to ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to best practices.
Develops and maintains procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use.
Develops and maintains procedures, programs and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications
Follows procedures developed to insure best practices, maintain security and protect data.
Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources.
Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways to take advantage of new technology.

Qualifications:
Windows / Linux Operating Systems installation and maintenance.
Vmware Virtualization design and management.
NetApp Administration and storage best practices.
NAS and SAN storage protocols.
Dell Compellent Administration.
Knowledge of Network technologies.
Experience working in a 24x7 datacenter.
Knowledge of IT best practices.
Experience with Backup and Recovery tools, policies and procedures.
