Ensures the overall success of the Clinical Research business with direct accountability for delivering growth of the business, as well as ensuring appropriate delivery, performance and profit. Providing executive level oversight of the entire commercial organization, leads the strategy, planning and execution of client-centric, innovative solutions to maximize client satisfaction and proactive engagement to drive forward our operating models. Having a comprehensive understanding of the Biotech and large Biopharma segments, champions and executes a clear and aggressive Account strategy to support the company's growth targets. Leads through a matrixed environment a cross functional team comprised of Operations, Finance, Business Development and Commercial Operations to ensure seamless delivery of services. Leverages all opportunities to achieve operational, financial and growth targets while representing the priorities across the total account portfolio. Defines the commercial path to growth, expansion and profitability of the Clinical Research business. Establishes short and long-term sales strategies ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and goals. Oversees portfolio profitability by monitoring profit/loss. Manages operational expenses in order to achieve PPD profitability targets. Achieves year-over-year financial growth while maintaining service quality to our customers. Fosters key relationships with Growth/Biotech and Biopharma Segment accounts, understanding client needs and translating them into deliverables. Ownership of customer relationships and achievement of sales/authorization targets across Accounts. Collaborates with operational leaders to evolve delivery operating model to be aligned with the industry needs and culture. Monitors performance to ensure PPD client deliverables are met. Assesses client satisfaction and recommends future actions to ensure the overall success of the Growth Portfolio and drive market share. Serves as PPD commercial executive contact for all issues, contractual changes and service level agreements. Leads the planning and prioritization of programs/projects that engage client partners and support customer deliverables. Stays abreast of market trends and identifies opportunities for portfolio growth. Executes global strategies that expand PPD's scope of business with assigned client accounts and supports strategic selling initiatives for services. Provides executive oversight in assisting with deal development, strategic proposals, pricing and negotiating to close such that the sales plan is met and exceeded. Job Qualification Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree and scientific background required; advanced degree preferred. 15
years of relevant experience in business development, client relationship management, alliance management or clinical operations to include 7
years of management experience. Visionary leader with demonstrated track record of success at the executive level and experience as a general manager. Established network in Biotech and Biopharma; Venture Capital connections a plus. Or equivalent and relevant combination of education, training, & experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strategic thinker with proven ability to strategically support a business through rapid growth and/or change Strong scientific background with in-depth knowledge of clinical development, the biopharma and biotechnology industries, concepts and terminology Ability to establish relationships with and influence scientific/biotech leaders and biopharma executives Strong consultative selling capabilities Ability to work in a matrix environment Strong command of sales disciplines and techniques Exceptional short and long-term strategic planning skills with the ability to develop sound strategies and business plans Strong competitive and business intelligence with ability to convert strategies into profitability & business growth Advanced fiscal management skills including forecasting, budgeting and resource management
Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
Minimum Qualification
Sales Management & Operations, Business DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
