Position Summary The Scientist I, under moderate supervision, will support assay development.
The Scientist I will contribute to internal research and development efforts which strengthen our assay and interpretation expertise.
This is a position where development of scientific design, client facing and internal teamwork skills, and workflow process understanding is fundamental.
The individual in this role will develop a wide range of skills including experimental planning and study design, image analysis, data interpretation, and scientific communication and reporting.
Job Classification - Full-time, exempt Essential Job Functions Responsible for routine clinical service including specimen processing, test performing, and data analysis Participate in QC / QA activities including organizing data, calibration / verification of instruments and monitor the temperature of lab equipment Participate in the development of new test procedures, test validations, and clinical trials related work.
Identify, interpret, and provide data and information in support of client projects Contribute to patents, white papers, publications, posters, and other scientific communications as requested Stay current on literature reports and technological developments relevant to the field Present data or prepare data for others to present Write clear and concise reports for internal dissemination and to prepare and present oral discussions of relevant experimental results and conclusions Other duties, projects as assigned Basic Qualifications PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biological Science, or related field 1-3 years of post-doctoral or relevant industry experience Experience in development and transition of high throughput assay design and optimization is a must Prior experience with NGS and bioinformatics analysis required Familiarity with a wide variety of Molecular techniques required Demonstrated ability and knowledge of Flow Cytometry and IHC capabilities is a plus Understanding of validation requirements based on CAP, CLIA, FDA and other regulations Ability to effectively communicate experimental design and results to team members and management Ability to clearly articulate, discuss and debate issues critical to ensuring technical progress Capable of making technical presentations to clients and internal teams Demonstrated ability to interact/communicate effectively with team members across all departments and levels of the organization Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment, both independently and as part of a team Fluent in English, both verbal and written Ability to travel to client sites and scientific meetings on a limited basis (.
