9 Full-time 6 hours ago Full Job Description The Accounting Clerk ensures all processes and procedures are followed to ensure vendors are paid accurately and transactions are complete and accurate in the general ledger system.
Incumbents are responsible for vendor maintenance, procurement-card (p-card) training journal entry and reconciliation, bank reconciliations and Misc requests as needed.
This position will allow the successful candidate to work a primarily remote schedule.
Two day a week working onsite is required.
Responsibilities & Duties Maintain vendor information Maintain accurate vendor information in the general ledger system.
This includes maintaining EFT information, performing Tin Matching, and saving appropriate support while following policies and procedures Research and resolve all ACH returns by contacting the vendor to get updating banking information and update the general ledger system Complete annual maintenance audits on vendor records and adjust records as needed Follow fraud prevention procedures that protect the assets of the organization Oversee P-card transactions Train P-card users on their responsibilities being a P-card holder and maintain the training documents used in the training process Review, Approve and Record monthly P-Card transactions for the organization ensuring all expenditures are recorded accurately to the general ledger Update the Pcard system with new account numbers and project ID's as needed Facilitate and assist with audits Interact with external auditors to complete various tasks Conduct bank account reconciliations Reconcile all bank accounts monthly and follow up on outstanding and/or unusual items Ensure that bank recs are signed off by the Accounting Supervisor and the Finance Officer or delegate Complete Stop Payments when requested Assist with month end and year end close Ensure timely and accurate completion of month end and year end tasks to assist with the close process Assist with Ad hoc reporting/requests Minimum Requirements Education & Experience Graduation from high school or equivalent and six (6) years of experience with Accounting data entry, Bookkeeping, or related experience Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices Knowledge of the provisions of the standardized accounting practices adopted by state and local government Knowledge of budget and fiscal activities Skill in the use of computer and various accounting software applications Intermediate Excel skills Skill in communicating, both orally and in written form Ability to problem solve Ability to use various computer applications in the performance of assigned tasks and duties Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with representatives of related contact agencies and departmental staff Ability to assist in interpreting and analyzing accounting data Ability to operate independently Salary Range $20.
08 - $34.
57/Hourly Education Required High School or better in General Studies Skills Required Accounting Communication MS Excel Microsoft Office Problem Solving.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
