Position Summary (Overall purpose and objective of the position)
Under limited supervision: Install and maintain the local area network. Monitor all LAN server and workstation resources. Ensure that security procedures are implemented and enforced. Ensure compliance with network policies, procedures and standards. Recommends and implements LAN policies and standard operating procedures. Evaluate vendor software and hardware products. Assists less experienced LAN administrators. BS in Computer Science or equivalent. 5-7 years of LAN administration experience or equivalent.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities

1. First on alert list for production environment
2. Administers the following IT systems:
o Vmware infrastructure
o EMC SAN, Centera and Data Domain storage infrastructure
o VPN and Application Firewall systems
o Windows Server 2008, especially Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, Remote Installation Server, IIS, Windows Sharepoint Services, File and Print services
3. Establishes and implements LAN hardware and software configuration management policies and standard operating procedures
4. Tests software releases, system upgrades and patches, and administers software deployment and patch management server software and policies
5. Creates and maintains SOP library and other procedural documentation
6. Ensures that security procedures are implemented and enforced
7. Ensures compliance with network policies, procedures and standards
8. Coordinates Firewall Policy Changes and VPN Connections with managed provider
9. Creates and administrators software procurement and deployment policy and ensures adherence to software licenses
10. Maintains software and hardware procurement paperwork for historical reference
11. Evaluate vendor software and hardware products
12. Monitors all LAN servers and workstation resources
13. Assist less experienced LAN Administrators
14. Assist in the execution of DR tests
15. Administers Testing and Staging Environments

Job Related Experience:
Requires a minimum of five years LAN and Windows System administration or related experience. Must be able to solve arising problems using sound judgment and experience and make decisions based on precedent. Must have strong written, verbal, and organizational skills. Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team or independently.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or related field; related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
