Position
Summary:
The role of the Project Engineer is to perform work that crosses the boundaries between engineering and project management, leading the technical workers who contribute to the installation and programming of security products. The Project Engineer is to have sufficient technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing in the various disciplines, and to initiate appropriate corrective actions. Two important responsibilities of the Project Engineer are inter-discipline coordination and overall quality control of the work. Position has responsibility for coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates assigned technical work; monitors work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted best practices, and ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsible for customer satisfaction across both installation and service with the complex customers in his defined geography.
Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects.
Accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects.
Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals.
Will participating in Client/contractor meetings and resolve Client/engineering and management project issues.
Prepare project engineering schedules and forecasts.
Coordination and checking of engineering deliverables.
Prepare monthly project status reports and change orders.
Requires extensive regular contact with assigned project Clients.
Budget monitoring and trend tracking.
Other duties, as assigned.
## Qualifications
Education:
College degree, Associate degree or equivalent 2-year electronic trade school training.
Enterprise certification in Tyco Integrated Security approved Access Control and Video System platforms
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or mid-level management experience within a field service based company.
Skills:
Deep understanding of networking - Cisco CCNA or Comptia Network
certification preferred
Lenel - Master Certified Required
Excellent computer skills including experience / certification in Microsoft products (MCSE, MCSA or MTA), SQL Server, Linux/Unix
Ability to troubleshoot complex systems at any level
Excellent communication skills
Working knowledge of Tyco Integrated Security operating systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access)
