The Staff Accountant will compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, accounting activities including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, journal entries, and reconciliation. This position is responsible for financial accounting and reporting, and support of related operating and production systems. The main focus is at the branch level but the position will also provide support to regional accounting.
Responsibilities:
Provides assurance of accurate accounting records, processes, and controls
Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of monthly profit and loss statements for each branch within the market
Responsible for oversight of branch level purchasing/accounts payable processes
Responsible for oversight of branch level billing/accounts receivable processes
Assists Branches and Region in developing and entering budgets/forecast
Monitors and assists branch teams with sales reporting compliance
Monitors and assists branch teams with forecasting compliance
Assists Equipment Resources Department in tracking equipment and assessing branch equipment needs
Performs other analysis and projects as determined by Regional Management
Qualifications:
Four year accounting or related degree, or equivalent experience
Three to four years of financial accounting and reporting experience
Strong communication skills
Strong computer skills - High level of proficiency in Excel to perform spreadsheet and financial analysis
Understanding of, and ability to work within, financial and accounting standards and systems
Knowledge of accounting principles and systems
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Must be able to:
Communicate clearly, orally and in writing
Identify and solve problems effectively and efficiently
Synthesize information from verbal and written sources
Effectively investigate problem areas
Travel as needed
