POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC (SMALL SHOP CHIEF)

As a Powered Support System Mechanic Small Shop Chief, WG-5378-11, you will perform all of the Plan and layout work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the individual and lower graded worker(s); Possess the knowledge and skills found at the journeyman level as well as those required for planning, accomplishing and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program; Independently determine appropriate maintenance procedures such as how and when the work should be accomplished; Estimate manpower, equipment and material requirement; Devise and maintain all program plans and records, is skilled in surveillance and troubleshooting techniques, and is able to determine maintenance/repair procedures needed without benefit of technical supervisory guidance; Plan, organize and direct shop maintenance programs/procedures under general supervision; Determine approaches, methods and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner; May provide recommendations and input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions such as performance appraisals, awards, position description changes, disciplinary actions, leave, etc; Perform the same type and level of work as performed within the unit; Implement safety regulatory requirements; Ensures that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions; Participate in various types of readiness preparations, inspections, evaluations, and mobilization and command support exercises; Performs additional duties such as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munition loading and handling, heavy equipment operation, maintenance of facilities and equipment. May serve as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies; Perform other duties as assigned. Military Grades:

Experience:
Experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of mechanical maintenance work; ability to read and use technical manuals, illustrations, diagrams and schematics, and skill in the use of equipment and hand tools used in troubleshooting, testing and repairing equipment. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Must have 18 months of Experience or training removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing parts, components, and accessories. Experience which provided working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to powered support equipment and systems; and skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments. Experience which provided working knowledge of the makeup and operation of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelationships. Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
