Vehicle Description A quite rare and unique nicely restored 1961 Austin Healey 3000 Mark 1.
This BT 7 body was produced in fairly small numbers from 1959 through early 1961.
Powered by a 2912 CC, dual carbureted six cylinder engine and working with a four-speed manual gearbox mated to an electric overdrive unit just as specified from the factory in 1961.
Extremely well documented through the last 3 owners and back until 1992, this West coast car was purchased from California where it has been for the last 15 years.
The vast amount of documentation accompanying the car includes photographs and receipts from the complete engine rebuild, transmission rebuild, overdrive rebuild as well as suspension work and much more.
The refurbished interior includes real leather seats new carpet, mats and door panels, a wooden trimmed steering wheel and a beautifully refinished dashboard.
The chrome on the car is in excellent condition as are the new chrome wire wheels which are fitted with radial tires.
Now using negative ground, The car was up fitted with a new alternator for better charging, spin on oil filter conversion, newer exhaust system, new shocks, aluminum high torque starter, rebuilt carburetors, A new distributor fitted with perTronic's electronic ignition and many more thoughtful and documented upgrades.
Even harder to find, the car comes with its refinished matching hard top as well as full Tonneau cover, boot cover and a new convertible top, uninstalled.
