Vehicle Description 1971 Triumph TR6.
I purchased this car from its longtime owner in August 2019.
He had owned it at that point for 26 years and kept it in a garage nearby in Pittsboro North Carolina.
Over the years he had painted the car installed a new biscuit colored convertible top, added new seat covers, door panels, new wooden dash facia and dash top and performed a good deal of general maintenance but eventually the car sat too long, the fuel went bad and he chose to sell it to me to continue its refurbishment.
I installed a new gas tank, new sending unit, new fuel filter and went through the carburetors.
I then installed a new water pump, new cooling hoses, new radiator, adjusted the valves and refinished the valve cover and air cleaner, added perTronics electronic ignition, a new radiator shroud, and a new carpets set.
I also installed a new trunk lining kit replaced the intake and exhaust gaskets and added a silicon valve cover gasket, replaced the fuel pump, replaced the clutch slave and master cylinders and installed an emergency hood release.
The car also has a new battery new battery tiedown and a battery disconnect switch.
Most recently I installed a rear tube shock conversion kit to replace the failing rear shock absorbers, a new oil pressure sending unit, last year it had a thorough professional brake job including new front calipers, rear shoes and all flexible brake lines installed.
A matching biscuit colored Tonneau cover and boot cover were purchased and both professionally installed Buy auto Tops and interiors here in Raleigh.
At the same time they replaced the seat foams in the seats.
The car is fitted with an AM/FM radio and a new antenna with all of its instruments and lights working properly including wipers, heater fan, hazards, etc.
it has a spare tire and rim, and owners manual as well as shop and parts manuals included.
Overall it is an excellent driving, well sorted TR6 with all new weather gear, very good chrome and glass, nice paint that does have some small chips and orange peel but certainly still in beautiful condition.
The car runs and drives well with a strong engine, great clutch and synchronizers with no smoke, Engine noises, rust or major leaks.
The rear portion of the exhaust system was replaced along the way as well as the rear differential mounts as well.
